Imperium joined forces last week with property tax specialists, Cornerstone Tax and Solicitors Thomas Eggar to present a seminar on property taxation particularly in relation to the new tax regime to be introduced by the UK government for properties valued £2m upwards and held in offshore corporate structures.

Guests who numbered over 70 in total, spanned a wide range of professional sectors, from property developers and investors to IFAs and fund managers. The three presenters outlined the implications of the new tax regime and what options individual property owners now have. They included several case studies illustrating a number of potential real life situations – each with distinct individual circumstances and therefore different recommended ways forward.

David Gilmour, Imperium Managing Director, who presented at the event, was delighted with the turn out and the positive reaction from the audience:

“Being able to offer alternative offshore structuring will hopefully stimulate some movement in the higher end property market. Our audience numbers in themselves indicate the levels of interest in this hot topic at the moment”

The seminar took place on 17 January.
