We have been doing our bit for some great charitable causes over the last few months and getting a bit fitter at the same time.
Now an annual outing for the Imperium team, the Guernsey Night Bike Ride took place in September and an impressive 452 riders cycled a total of 9,905 miles – that’s the equivalent of cycling from Guernsey to Alice Springs! The event raised over £5,000 for the Cardiac Action Group and MS Society Guernsey and we had a lot of fun despite a few aching legs the next day.
For the first time we put a team into the local marathon which was a real challenge but incredibly rewarding (Euan pictured and he is still smiling!).
Then in October we joined 1,800 swimmers at the annual Guernsey Swimarathon which raised a record £51,000 for a number of Guernsey charities including the local Cheshire Home which fulfils such a valuable role within the Guernsey community.
There is an incredible amount of work that goes into organising these events so thank you to all the helpers and supporters that make these fund raisers run so seamlessly.
Well done team and let’s see what our challenges are for 2016.
